Which Managed Service Plan is Right for Me?

fjorge CMS Managed Service department has had a short but rapid-growth history. In 2016, fjorge realized that some client sites required additional rounds of QA after launch. No matter how thoroughly everyone QA’d the site pre-launch, there were always more opportunities for improvement or glitches caused by CMS core and plugin updates. fjorge sold our first Maintenance plan that year. Today we manage over 140 websites, have expanded our services to include hosting and site monitoring, and currently have the largest team in the company.

We now offer four plan levels: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Enterprise. This article will help you decide which plan is right for your website.

Bronze

This plan includes shared hosting, monthly CMS and plugin updates, plus 1 hour to troubleshoot and estimate ticket requests.

We often refer to the Bronze level as our “Basic Maintenance” plan. We make sure your site is monitored, and perform monthly upkeep so it remains secure. If a CMS or plugin update will potentially break part of your site, we provide you with an estimate. You can then choose to either approve the site repairs on a T&M basis or defer the updates for another month. The 1 hour for Client Maintenance Requests (CMR) is only enough time to discuss submitted ticket requests and complete a quick troubleshoot in order to provide the estimate for implementing a solution.

Bronze level clients can open a T&M Overages budget for the month for fjorge to complete any approved ticket requests.

This plan is right for you if:

  • You have a simple site with less than 10 plugins
  • Your site reaches a small audience and does not require a dedicated server
  • Your site has no pre-existing issues
  • You have no desire to enhance your site with new features or improve UX

Silver

This plan includes dedicated hosting, bi-weekly CMS and plugin updates, plus 4 hours for ticket requests.

Our Silver level plan includes more frequent CMS and plugin updates because Silver level site are built with more plugins and therefore requires more time to update and QA the site than the Bronze level plan would cover. Dedicated hosting means your site will not be competing for server capacity with other websites, and 4 hours for CMR is generally enough to complete 1-3 tickets per month, depending on the type of requests.

Silver level clients can open a T&M Overages budget for the month if they desire to have more than 4 hours of requests completed.

This plan is right for you if:

  • You have a site built with 11-25 plugins
  • Your site reaches a moderate to large audience and requires a dedicated server
  • Your site has pre-existing issues or you have a wishlist/backlog of site improvements
  • Your site is mission-critical to your business success

Gold

This plan includes dedicated hosting, weekly CMS and plugin updates, plus 8 hours for ticket requests.

Our Gold level plan includes weekly CMS and plugin updates, meaning your site is at its most updated and secure state each week (unless we have been instructed by you to defer certain updates). Dedicated hosting means your site will not be competing for server capacity with other websites, and 8 hours for CMR is generally enough to complete 4-8 small tickets per month or 1-3 larger tickets.

Gold level clients can open a T&M Overages budget for the month if they desire to have more than 8 hours of requests completed.

This plan is right for you if:

  • You have a site built with 26-45 plugins
  • Your site reaches a moderate to large audience and requires a dedicated server
  • Your site has pre-existing issues or you have a wishlist/backlog of site improvements you want to be prioritized quickly
  • Your site needs continual enhancements to keep up with your growing business
  • Your site is mission-critical to the success of your business operations

Enterprise

This plan includes exactly what you need it to include! Most of our Enterprise plans are the equivalent of a Platinum level, with all the features of a Gold plan plus over 10 hours for CMR. Some of our Enterprise plans are for bundled sites that share plan hours.

This plan is right for you if:

  • You have a site built with over 50 plugins
  • Your site requires a dedicated server OR you have multiple sites that you want to share a server (but not share it with other sites outside of the bundle)
  • You’re interested in another plan level, but desire more time for CMR
  • Your internal team will handle routine site upkeep, but you need fjorge on retainer for frequent larger requests or consultation
